Jenzabar Expands i3 Strategy With Launch of Five New CRM Portlets for Internet Campus Solution Suite

Constituent Relationship Management Modules Add New Level of Campus Wide Integration For Students, Faculty and Administrators

Cambridge, MA—Oct. 28, 2002—Jenzabar, Inc., a leader in software solutions for higher education, today announced five new Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) Portlets to its award winning Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution product. The CRM modules, CRM Admission Officer™, CRM Advancement Officer™, CRM Staff™, CRM Student™and CRM Web Events Management™, provide the information and tools appropriate to the user's role on campus, be that of a student, a faculty member, an administrator or a senior executive.

Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution is the only Web-based software suite that seamlessly integrates each end of a college campus, from students to administrators to faculty, and delivers role-based access to administrative and academic information. Jenzabar's i3 strategy of Intelligent, Integrated and Internet encapsulates the features and functionality of Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution. The i3 strategy includes business practices and Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution suite to help colleges improve educational practices, campus operations and efficiencies.

Colleges and universities are well known for being "data rich, but information poor." Few institutions can take advantage of their data warehouse and make intelligent business decisions. Jenzabar's database intelligence pushes role-appropriate customized information. For example, a college president will see daily enrollment and fund raising figures. For a student advisor, the Portlet provides necessary tools to assist students, such as students' profile information and degree audit. Portlets simplify the extraction of value-based data from application systems for trend analysis, with consolidated reporting across multiple subject areas of the campus.

"Nationwide college presidents are looking for ways to seamlessly increase communications with students, faculty and administrators and at the same time eliminate antiquated computer systems," said Bob Maginn, CEO of Jenzabar, Inc. "With Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution and new CRM Portlets, colleges can reach new levels of efficiency in student recruitment, faculty and administrator retention and campus wide communications."

CRM in Action - The Benefits of Jenzabar Portlets

The following five CRM modules provide anytime, anywhere access to features and functionality for users, in a familiar environment that is easy to learn and use. These include:

  • CRM Admission Officer provides admissions officers with 24-by-7 access to enter information on prospective students via the Web and view and update candidate information, including contacts, folder items, application status and family data. Admissions Officers can instantly access presentations for candidates and families, such as degree programs, catalogs and financial aid data.
  • CRM Advancement Officer provides advancement officers with instant access to information about constituents, allows them to manage campaigns, track planned giving efforts and projects for grants and grant information. The Campaign Management component provides fund raising professionals with information at their fingertips to follow, evaluate and manage campaigns. The Planned Giving component organizes information on donors making substantial gifts to a college. The Stewardship Component provides access to grant proposals, participants in the grant, funding of the grant, reporting periods and specific requirements and conditions attached to the grant.
  • CRM Staff provides employees of a college with up-to-the-date information on their employment history, salary history and other payroll and benefit information. Efficiencies within Human Resource departments are increased by allowing employees to look up information themselves. From the CRM Staff module, employees can apply for open job positions, change benefit plan information, enter time sheet information, view their payroll year-to-date information and update employee biographical information, including emergency contacts, dependents and addresses.
  • CRM Student provides students with 24-by-7 online registration with real time checking for valid courses, access to class schedules and required textbooks, as well as financial aid and billing charges, calculations on GPA projections based on the students grades and facilitates a student emailing their advisor or instructor for one or more of their courses.
  • CRM Web Events Management provides faculty, administrators and staff with role-based access and single sign-on during the planning of/and after a campus wide event. The easy-to-use interface allows for an event planner to manage registration, event housing, event meals, event activities and event travel arrangements.

"The landscape for student recruitment has changed dramatically in the past five years and to compete in today's environment we needed to dramatically upgrade the campus computer network to show students, faculty and administrators that we are committed to improving campus-wide communications," according to Dr. Howell Garner, president of Copiah Lincoln Community College, a user of Jenzabar's i3 and CRM solutions. "Using Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution will enable Copiah Lincoln Community College to move from the technology stone age to the information age where the delay in sharing information between students and faculty is no longer hours or days but only minutes."
