Chooses Jenzabar
Esteemed Engineering School Uses Jenzabar to Improve
Efficiencies and Operations
CAMBRIDGE, MA-March 12, 2003- Jenzabar, Inc., a leader in software
solutions for higher education, today announced that Franklin W.
Olin College of Engineering in Newton, MA, has chosen Jenzabar's
Internet Campus Solution (JICS) to support the administration offices
at the college and improve college efficiencies and operations.
Olin College uses the CX component of JICS, the only fully integrated,
Web-based e-learning software solution that seamlessly integrates
each end of a college campus, from students to administrators to
faculty, and delivers role-based access to administrative and academic
information.
"The quality of Jenzabar's project managers and implementation
planning, as evidenced through a number of reference checks, as
well as their focus on the higher education industry made Jenzabar
the clear cut choice over other companies," said Joanne Kossuth,
Olin College's director of information technology. "Choosing
Jenzabar's CX product allows Olin to provide a centralized mechanism
where data resides yet can be easily accessed by the appropriate
constituencies for reporting purposes as well as for self-service
functions."
The CX component of Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution provides
all of the advantages of high-end processing, including advanced
functionality, tools and support for institutions that handle higher
transaction volume. Using the Web portal and Internet infrastructure
of CX provides administrators at Olin with a complete suite of software
applications, including Student, Financial, Institutional Advancement,
Human Resources, Finance, and Management Reporting.
Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering was established with a
$400 million gift from the F. W. Olin Foundation of New York with
the idea of changing the way that engineers are educated in the
new Internet-linked global economy. The new college's mission is
to "provide an engineering education to prepare leaders able
to predict, create, and manage the technologies of the future."
To succeed in this mission, the college is building a culture of
continuous innovation by regularly re-evaluating its curricula,
programs, and campus environment.
"Jenzabar is committed to providing small-to mid-sized higher
education institutions such as Olin College with best-of-breed products
that dramatically improve productivity and communications at each
end of the college campus, from the student dormitories, to faculty
offices to the administration buildings," said Bob Maginn,
chairman and CEO of Jenzabar. "Today more than 700 customers
recognize the significant advantages of using Jenzabar's products
on their campuses and understand that Jenzabar's long term commitment
to developing world class products is unparalleled in the industry
today."
About Olin College
Olin College is the first new free-standing engineering college
to open in the U.S. in more than 40 years. The college enrolled
its first freshman class in fall 2002 and introduced an innovative,

the last decade by the National Science Foundation and the engineering
community. The college has a state-of-the-art campus and attracts
top students and faculty from around the country. At full enrollment,
the college will have 450-650 students. The college is funded through
a commitment of approximately $400 million from the F.W. Olin foundation,
