That Was Then...
CAMBRIDGE, MAAugust 14, 2001Approximately
one year ago, The Claremont Colleges had chosen a system from CARS,
one of the five companies that presently comprise Jenzabar, Inc.
At the time, Richard Parker, CIO for Harvey Mudd College, stated,
"We are happy with the decision . . . and look forward to implementing
the system as soon as possible."
The Claremont Colleges had chosen Jenzabar after a
long and thorough search process. According to Dr. Brenda Barham
Hill, Chief Executive Officer for the Claremont University Consortium
(CUC), the process was unusually collaborative and thorough. "We
had talked to many institutions and learned what others had done
right and what they had done wrong. After this careful process,
we believed we had made an excellent choice in Jenzabar."
This Is Now.
The Claremont Colleges consortium has chosen Jenzabar
as its enterprise resource provider for the five combined Claremont
Colleges (Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College, Pitzer
College, Pomona College, and Scripps College). Jenzabar's CARS software
will provide The Claremont Colleges an integrated solution with
enterprise application software and service solutions that the five
schools will use jointly.
"We are pleased to have successfully completed Phase
One," Linda Pardue, Project Manager for CUC, states. Phase One consisted
of a needs assessment, fit gap, and project plan. "We are excited
about the beginning of Phase Two of the project, and we look forward
to a successful implementation."
"We were amazed," Dr. Barham Hill notes, "at the collateral
benefits we received. The collaborative nature of the implementation
has engendered common software systems tailored to our needs. The
Needs Assessment developed a camaraderie and commitment that has
changed our culture. This is the first time ever that we will have
direct access to internal information electronically across all
five campuses."
Robert Walters, Associate Vice President of Information
Systems & Technology at Claremont McKenna College agrees, "The choice
of Jenzabar was pretty close to unanimous . . . again. Our users
and IT staff agree that Jenzabar's features are best for what we
need most in our type of institution."
The more things change....
